Entech Staffing Solutions Team BEYOND BIG BEAVER Over the years, “Big Beaver Road” has become synonymous with all that the city of Troy represents. The corridor boasts an abundance of economic activity and is where some of Troy’s largest and most well-known institutions call home. However, the city’s identity stretches beyond one street. Beyond Big Beaver, one can find a network of bustling development, equally shaping Troy’s economic landscape. Crooks Corridor: Long before Big Beaver became synonymous with Troy, Entech Staffing Solutions & Entech Medical Staffing was already laying the groundwork for what it would become. Originally established in 1984, Entech has been operating out of their Crooks Road location since 2014, and their location offers advantages they would lack if located on Big Beaver. “While we may not be on Big Beaver, Crooks is another street in this city that is populated by thriving local businesses,” shares Emma Hampton, Entech’s Community Relations & Marketing Manager. EXPERIENCE TROY | 4 “You still get the bustling business community without as much traffic. We partner as vendors and clients of businesses on Crooks. There are many delicious restaurants we frequent, such as our neighbors across the street at Oven 360. When you think Troy you think Big Beaver, but the business legs of Troy stretch far beyond,” says Emma Hampton. As a leader in the staffing industry, Entech employs over 600 employees weekly, and has 39 direct staff members. Hampton shares, “We are passionate about supporting local commerce and growing the Michigan economy, particularly in our hometown of Troy. By connecting Troy businesses with qualified staff, we are raising Troy’s status as a business hub, on Big Beaver and beyond.” Coolidge Connection Before Big Beaver was lined with corporate headquarters and economic centers, you could find something a bit different on the corner of John R and Big Beaver; a small airport. The original airfield closed in 1995, pressured by growing demand for commercial development. Still, aviation never fully left Troy. Today, the Troy Airport operates just a short distance away, near the corner of Coolidge and West Maple, and serves as a reminder of the city’s early days. Recently, a new business took flight at the airport, transforming part of the site into its new home; Victor’s Aviation. The flight academy says that choosing the Troy Airport as their home was an easy choice, “because of the dense population of career-minded professionals and number of schools surrounding the airport that can benefit from a STEM-based aviation career, [as well as] Career Technical Education (CTE) programs being established in the surrounding school districts,” shares Nathan Miller, President of Victors Aviation. “Over 600,000 pilots will be needed worldwide by 2040 to meet the aviation industry's demand. Victors provides the initial training for young adults to meet this need.” There’s always more to explore!
Victors Aviation Plane Yeo & Yeo CPAs & Advisors Troy Office Ribbon Cutting Firebird Tavern Rather than landing on Big Beaver, he picked a more tucked-away spot, offering a cozier, neighborhood-oriented experience. The move reflects confidence in Troy’s growing and evolving dining scene, where success doesn’t depend on being on the busiest street, but instead on offering authenticity for the community. “We felt like there was a void missing here in Troy for our style and what we bring to the table. A true neighborhood location where the small things still matter. Service, remembering names, what you like to drink, and more,” Piraino states. Despite being located off the main commercial corridor of Troy, Firebird Tavern is still extremely proud to connect with the local community. “Simply put, were not a big box chain… We actively connect with city with donations and fundraisers for all schools; elementary, middle, and high school. We actually care that people choose to stop in and spend time with us.” Victors Aviation is a brand-new business, and Miller sees a bright future ahead. “The allocation of [recent] funding is a clear indication that Oakland County values its airport.” he says. Victors Aviation’s presence breathes fresh ambition into an industrial corridor of the city, proving that progress in Troy doesn’t only happen along Big Beaver. 1-75 & Long Lake Loop It’s not only new businesses opening in Troy; many established companies are choosing to relocate to the city to take advantage of all there is to offer. While some companies prioritize a Big Beaver address, Yeo & Yeo CPAs & Advisors took a different path. The firm recently moved from Auburn Hills and Bloomfield Hills to Troy, selecting a location outside the bustle of Big Beaver. For Yeo & Yeo, relocation wasn’t about being seen; it was about having room to grow and connect. “We relocated as a result of outgrowing our current office space. With clients and staff located throughout Southeast Michigan, remaining centrally located along I-75 was a significant factor for us,” shares Kimberlee Dahl, Director of Marketing. “Troy itself is undergoing a remarkable transformation. The city has made significant investments in infrastructure and economic development that directly benefit businesses like ours.” Yeo & Yeo is one of the nation’s top 200 accounting, tax, audit, and advisory firms. With an office just minutes from Big Beaver, they enjoy being in a vibrant part of Troy. “We’re close enough to stay connected to the city’s core, while also benefitting from a unique sense of community and accessibility,” shares Kimberlee. Routing to Rochester Road As Troy grows, so does the culinary landscape. For Firebird Tavern, expanding from the heart of downtown Detroit to Troy wasn’t about replicating the downtown scene; it was about creating a neighborhood gem. Firebird’s owner, Tony Piraino, chose to bring the second location to Troy with a different vision in mind. EXPERIENCE TROY | 5 Troy has a lot to offer Beyond Big Beaver. From staffing leaders and aviation roots to relocated headquarters and tucked-away dining gems, Troy’s business story continues to unfold past its well known corridor. Together, these businesses prove that Troy’s strength isn’t defined by one road -- It’s built on every corner, by those who choose to cultivate and grow far beyond Big Beaver.
GET TO KNOW TROY Troy offers highly ranked schools, safe neighborhoods, and a strong, growing economy. Consistently recognized as one of the safest cities in the state and home to one of the lowest tax rates in Oakland County, Troy stands out as an exceptional place to live. With top-rated schools, a local college, and access to several universities, Troy is widely considered one of Michigan’s best communities for families. A SPECIAL STATEMENT FROM MAYOR ETHAN D. BAKER The City of Troy remains one of Michigan’s premier communities to live, work, play, learn and do business. Our strong partnership with the Troy Chamber of Commerce is central to this success. Together, we ensure that Troy’s business environment remains competitive and positioned for longterm growth, which plays a key role in creating an environment that fosters a vibrant community. With more than 6,000 businesses, and more opening each year, Troy is a diverse and businessfriendly hub. From local restaurants and coffee shops to advanced technology and automotive firms to regional retail destinations, the City offers a broad range of economic opportunities. And soon, we will welcome the Frances and Kenneth Eisenberg Troy Center for Specialty Care, the University of Michigan Health System’s new outpatient and surgical facility, being constructed on the former Kmart world headquarters site, along with mixed-use development. Creating a welcoming environment for residents and businesses is a priority the City pursues daily. This commitment was recently exemplified when the Michigan Association of Planning awarded the City of Troy the 2025 Planning Excellence Award for Implementation for the Big Beaver Corridor. Creating a welcoming environment for residents and businesses is a priority the City pursues daily. This commitment was recently exemplified when the Michigan Association of Planning awarded the City of Troy the 2025 Planning Excellence Award for Implementation for the Big Beaver Corridor. Big Beaver Road was originally planned as an office district with limited retail options outside of Somerset Collection. Twenty years ago, this area was dominated by large office buildings and expansive, underused parking lots. In 2007, the Troy City Council and the Downtown Development Authority initiated the Big Beaver Corridor Study to reposition the corridor as a worldclass economic destination. Fast forward to today, and that vision has been realized. Nearly 1,000 surface parking spaces have been replaced with a mix of restaurants, retail, financial institutions, housing, hotels, and a Children’s Hospital, with additional developments in the pipeline. Troy is consistently recognized for its innovation and high quality of life, which is supported by strong City services, exceptional schools, and well-maintained public amenities. Recent community events, such as the annual Holiday Tree Lighting Ceremony at The Rink at Jeanne M. Stine Community Park, demonstrate the strong civic engagement and sense of community that define what the City of Troy is. Witnessing hundreds of people brave the cold to engage in a longstanding tradition that is central to many people’s holiday season exemplifies the Troy spirit. From upscale shopping and diverse dining to outdoor activities, the City of Troy provides residents and businesses with abundant amenities. Home to more than 40 million square feet of retail, office, and industrial space, plus a highly educated workforce, Troy’s business environment is progressive and diverse with a mix of major corporations and small local businesses. For these, and so many other reasons, it is no wonder that the City of Troy is one of the best places to live, work, learn, and play. Ethan Baker Mayor, City of Troy EXPERIENCE TROY | 8

MICHELLE CROCKETT HONIGMAN LLP TROY CHAMBER 2026 BOARD CHAIR “I became involved in the Troy Chamber not long after I started with ConnectPay in July 2021. While we have an office in Troy, we didn’t have anyone actively engaging with the Chamber, so I jumped at the opportunity. At first, I was going to meetings sporadically. I met several people, made a few connections, and it was pretty good. What I realized, though, is that there was much more to gain from the Chamber. I became more engaged and attended meetings consistently, gaining more connections and developing relationships. So instead of being “oh, that guy,” I became more like, “I know a guy.” When you first come across the Troy Chamber you see a lot of logos of big businesses, but in reality there is a wide cross section of businesses involved in the Chamber, large, medium, and small. My company is focused on small businesses, and I meet new small businesses at almost every Troy Chamber function I attend. It has been an incredibly rewarding experience for me to not only be a member of the Chamber but an active, engaged member.” TROY CHAMBER “Honigman LLP, its attorneys and business professionals, are committed to the clients, and larger communities we are privileged to serve, work and live within. As a proud member of this firm, I have personally invested and been a part of various non-profit organizations throughout my career, that share in the belief that the overall health and success of individual citizens, local governments, and businesses is strengthened by alliances between the private, public, and non-profit sectors. This is EXACTLY what the Troy Chamber is all about!! I have been humbled to be a part of this wonderful Chamber for the past five (5) years and am now overwhelmed by the opportunity to serve as its 2026 Board Chair! Borrowing a tag line from Oprah… What I know for sure is that the thoughtful, timely and intentional planning of programs, events and training opportunities offered by the Chamber have far-reaching benefits in terms of providing knowledge and tools that allow for the creation and delivery of innovative service models to the community at large. The Board of Directors and fantastic Chamber staff work tirelessly to identify new and improved resources that will aid in the success and achievement of personal and professional goals of each one of our members. I am so excited and extremely grateful for the trust of the Chamber staff, and my fellow Board members have bestowed upon me, and will do all I can to help lead this amazing organization forward. We will continue to leverage our respective experiences and skills to ensure that the Chamber remains an integral part of the City of Troy’s growth well into the future. Onward and upward… We’re just getting started!” JENNA SAFRAN ARROW OFFICE SUPPLY “Arrow Office Supply joined the Chamber a year ago, & we’ve had an exceptional experience! Every person involved—including both staff and members—is incredibly kind, helpful, and welcoming. The Troy Chamber is organized, consistently keeping everyone informed & up to date in a timely manner. Each event is thoughtfully planned with ideas that create an easygoing environment for networking & collaboration. They’ve been an amazing asset to Arrow, helping us build & nurture genuine, long-lasting relationships with other local business professionals—many of whom have become friends.“ “Since BAE Networks became part of the Chamber, & I stepped in as Chair of the Young Professional Network, the visibility of our company increased significantly. A key piece of advice I learned is that you can’t walk into an event aiming to sell; you go in to create new relationships with individuals and businesses that share your vision for the community. I adjusted my mindset, & I’ve been able to cultivate many connections so that they are top-of-mind when I hear of someone facing an issue they could handle, while hoping that BAE Networks and I are top-of-mind for them in return. I’m incredibly grateful to the Troy Chamber team for being such valuable resources as I navigate marketing efforts at BAE Networks, & for the support they show to ensure we benefit from our membership.” SARAH FRAZIER BAE NETWORKS, 2026 YOUNG PROFESSIONALS CHAIR MARK VANOSDOL CONNECTPAY PAYROLL SERVICES HAVE YOU JOINED A TROY CHAMBER COMMITTEE? With a dedication to helping businesses grow, the Troy Chamber provides a diverse package of benefits to its members. “As a longtime member of the Troy Chamber, I can confidently say this chamber stands apart from others I’ve been part of. What makes the Troy Chamber truly unique is the caliber of its membership and the quality of its events. These aren't just mixers filled with realtors and balloon artists—this is a professional, business-focused community filled with decisionmakers and entrepreneurs across diverse industries. Every event is thoughtfully designed to be educational, engaging, and impactful. I always leave with valuable insights or new connections that benefit my business. In 2023, I had the honor of building out the Chamber’s new office space at Walsh College, which was a meaningful way to give back to an organization that has supported me for over a decade. The relationships I’ve built through the Troy Chamber have been instrumental to my professional journey, and I look forward to continuing to grow with this incredible community.” “I have represented several companies over the many years that I have been a member of the Troy Chamber. That should tell everyone that the Chamber is an excellent organization. The Chamber provides connections at all levels of member companies. Each local chamber has its own unique qualities, but the Troy Chamber stands out with its educational opportunities and engagement opportunities for both new and existing members. The support of the staff has played a major role in making my role as an Ambassador easy to encourage new companies to become members. The Troy Chamber affords The Calysto Group the opportunity to create connections for enhancing business relationships, which results in increased revenue. Companies that belong to the Chamber are more partners than members. Financial Solutions of Michigan Financial Solutions of Michigan was founded in 1995 by Joe Longo with a straightforward goal, to help people plan for the long term and build relationships they could rely on. Generations at Work: Family-Owned Businesses Thriving in Troy, Rooted in Legacy, & Built for the Future Troy-Metro Agency Troy-Metro Agency traces its origins to 1951, beginning as L.O. Schneider & Associates in downtown Detroit. After relocating to Troy in 1969, the agency adopted its current name and expanded its insurance focus under the leadership of Richard Ehlert. Around that time, Richard was brought on to grow the insurance side of the business and later purchased the agency, establishing it as a family-owned operation. In the late 1970s, Richard’s son Max joined the agency at age 23 and eventually became the owner in the late 1990s. The third generation followed years later, with Max’s son Erich beginning work at the agency in 2004 while still in high school through a coop program. Erich and Grant became owners in 2023 when their father retired, continuing a three-generation legacy. Both grew up in Troy and remain closely connected to the city, which they see as home and a natural fit for their business. Based in Troy from the beginning, the firm has benefited from the city’s strong business community and central location, remaining rooted for more than 30 years Joe did not initially expect his daughter, Gina Cetnar, to continue the business. She joined the firm in 1999 as an administrative assistant after trying several other industries and finding none of them to be the right fit. At her father’s suggestion, she gave the family business a chance. The early years were challenging, but earning her CFP® certification in 2015 marked a turning point and confirmed her long-term commitment to the work. Working together shifted their relationship. Joe became a mentor as well as a father, and Gina gained a deeper understanding of both the business and the values behind it. Her husband also works alongside her, providing support and partnership in the day-to-day operation of the firm. Like many family-owned businesses in the community, its strength comes from trust built over time and a commitment to thinking beyond the present moment. Working together allows each of the brothers to focus on his strengths, with Erich managing the operations and Grant leading sales. Growth has remained steady and intentional, with an emphasis on maintaining a small, personal agency where clients are known and calls are answered by real people. As for a fourth generation, the future remains open. Like their father before them, Erich and Grant believe passion must come naturally. If their children one day choose to continue the family legacy, they would welcome it, but above all, they want them to pursue work they truly care about. Mike Savoie Volkswagon The Savoie family’s automotive story began more than half a century ago. Founder Myron “Mike” Phillip Savoie entered the auto industry after serving in the U.S. Navy during and after World War II. He studied Industrial Engineering at the General Motors Institute and built experience in manufacturing, service, and sales before purchasing Patterson Chevrolet in May 1966. Just over a year later, Mike relocated the dealership to the Troy Motor Mall on Maple Road, positioning it among the first dealerships in what would become a major automotive retail hub. The move proved pivotal, establishing a long-standing presence that continues today. In 2017, the third generation stepped forward when Michael’s daughter, Rachel Savoie, returned home to learn the business from the ground up. She worked across departments to gain firsthand experience, earning trust through involvement rather than title Today, Rachel owns and operates Mike Savoie Volkswagen of Troy. Rachel and her trusted companion dog, Jimmy now continues this family legacy. Jimmy comes to work with her almost every day and is proudly featured on the website as the Director of Customer Relations. Rachel plans to have Jimmy by her side for years to come. already supported Premier Pet Supply but needed a more convenient location. Despite being just five miles from the original store, the Troy store quickly established itself as a success. Premier Pet Supply In 1992, Ray Hesano started Premier Pet Supply after struggling to find high-quality pet products for his own dog. He opened the first store at 13 Mile and Southfield Road in the Village of Beverly Hills, laying the foundation for a business rooted in better care and community connection. Not long after, Ray asked his 18 year old, fresh out of high school, nephew, Mike to help stocking pet food on the shelves. What began as a job quickly became a passion, as Mike learned more about all aspects of the store’s operations and built strong relationships with their incredible customers, he soon discovered a deep appreciation for the work and found his career Over the years, Mike steadily took on more responsibility, eventually running the store on his own. Without financial backing, he spent years saving to buy into half of the original location, officially becoming an owner in his mid-twenties—earning his place through persistence and hard work. As the business grew, Mike helped guide its expansion, including the decision to open a location in Troy. Drawn to the city’s family-friendly culture and strong compassion for pets, he saw an opportunity to better serve customers who Today, Premier Pet Supply remains a familyrun business. Ray is still an owner, and Mike now works alongside his cousins Jeff, Steve, and Brandon who are partners in several locations and were instrumental in the early operations. Together, they balance trust, shared values, and a commitment to being honest with one another—something Mike says is both the greatest strength and the greatest challenge of working with family. More than 30 years after it began, Premier Pet Supply continues to grow with intention, guided by family leadership, strong community ties, and a shared commitment to doing right by pets and the people who love them. Paul C. Scott and Sons Plumbing Some family businesses begin with a formal business plan. Others begin with grit, faith, and a single truck. In 1988, Paul Scott launched his plumbing business out of the basement of his Royal Oak home. With one employee and one truck, the goal was simple, provide honest, dependable service to the community. As demand grew, the business moved into a small building in Madison Heights, steadily adding trucks, team members, and a reputation for professionalism that customers came to trust. When Paul’s wife, Christine Scott, joined the business in 1999, the company entered its next phase of growth. Together, they expanded operations while remaining grounded in Paul’s original vision, to build a company defined not by scale, but by reliability and integrity. That vision was tested in 2016, when Paul passed away. Rather than stepping away, his family stepped forward. Determined to carry on both the business and the people who depended on it, Christine made the decision to continue the company alongside their three sons. During Paul’s treatments, she earned both her Plumbing Journeyman License and Contractor License credentials required to legally operate the business. Soon after, their son Gilbert Cotter obtained his Master Plumber License, completing all city and state requirements and ensuring the company could continue serving customers without interruption. In the years that followed, Brian Scott and Greg Scott also earned their Master Plumber Licenses, further strengthening the company’s leadership and technical expertise while continuing the family’s legacy of professionalism and excellence It was a transition built on resolve, sacrifice, and a deep sense of responsibility, not only to their family, but to their employees and longtime customers. In 2015, the company made its permanent home in Troy, a city the family had long admired. They purchased a former body shop and transformed it into a fully functional warehouse, office, utility area, and training center for their plumbing tradesmen. Working as a family brings both rewards and challenges. There is pride in sharing successes and sacrifices, and a closeness that extends beyond the workplace into family gatherings and everyday life. At the same time, strong bonds can blur boundaries, and frustrations sometimes spill over, even when unintended. Still, the family agrees the ability to work together toward a shared purpose far outweighs the challenges. For them, supporting family-owned businesses means more than making a purchase, it means preserving traditions, creating local jobs, and strengthening communities. Family businesses often move faster, adapt more easily, and operate without the layers of bureaucracy found in large chains or franchises, allowing them to respond quickly and personally to their customers’ needs. Running a family business, they say, requires real sacrifice. But the rewards — for their team, their neighbors, and their family — make it worthwhile. They see family-owned businesses as the quiet engines powering towns like Troy, keeping communities rooted in tradition while building toward the future.
