Entech Staffing Solutions Team BEYOND BIG BEAVER Over the years, “Big Beaver Road” has become synonymous with all that the city of Troy represents. The corridor boasts an abundance of economic activity and is where some of Troy’s largest and most well-known institutions call home. However, the city’s identity stretches beyond one street. Beyond Big Beaver, one can find a network of bustling development, equally shaping Troy’s economic landscape. Crooks Corridor: Long before Big Beaver became synonymous with Troy, Entech Staffing Solutions & Entech Medical Staffing was already laying the groundwork for what it would become. Originally established in 1984, Entech has been operating out of their Crooks Road location since 2014, and their location offers advantages they would lack if located on Big Beaver. “While we may not be on Big Beaver, Crooks is another street in this city that is populated by thriving local businesses,” shares Emma Hampton, Entech’s Community Relations & Marketing Manager. EXPERIENCE TROY | 4 “You still get the bustling business community without as much traffic. We partner as vendors and clients of businesses on Crooks. There are many delicious restaurants we frequent, such as our neighbors across the street at Oven 360. When you think Troy you think Big Beaver, but the business legs of Troy stretch far beyond,” says Emma Hampton. As a leader in the staffing industry, Entech employs over 600 employees weekly, and has 39 direct staff members. Hampton shares, “We are passionate about supporting local commerce and growing the Michigan economy, particularly in our hometown of Troy. By connecting Troy businesses with qualified staff, we are raising Troy’s status as a business hub, on Big Beaver and beyond.” Coolidge Connection Before Big Beaver was lined with corporate headquarters and economic centers, you could find something a bit different on the corner of John R and Big Beaver; a small airport. The original airfield closed in 1995, pressured by growing demand for commercial development. Still, aviation never fully left Troy. Today, the Troy Airport operates just a short distance away, near the corner of Coolidge and West Maple, and serves as a reminder of the city’s early days. Recently, a new business took flight at the airport, transforming part of the site into its new home; Victor’s Aviation. The flight academy says that choosing the Troy Airport as their home was an easy choice, “because of the dense population of career-minded professionals and number of schools surrounding the airport that can benefit from a STEM-based aviation career, [as well as] Career Technical Education (CTE) programs being established in the surrounding school districts,” shares Nathan Miller, President of Victors Aviation. “Over 600,000 pilots will be needed worldwide by 2040 to meet the aviation industry's demand. Victors provides the initial training for young adults to meet this need.” There’s always more to explore!
