Mike Savoie Volkswagon The Savoie family’s automotive story began more than half a century ago. Founder Myron “Mike” Phillip Savoie entered the auto industry after serving in the U.S. Navy during and after World War II. He studied Industrial Engineering at the General Motors Institute and built experience in manufacturing, service, and sales before purchasing Patterson Chevrolet in May 1966. Just over a year later, Mike relocated the dealership to the Troy Motor Mall on Maple Road, positioning it among the first dealerships in what would become a major automotive retail hub. The move proved pivotal, establishing a long-standing presence that continues today. In 2017, the third generation stepped forward when Michael’s daughter, Rachel Savoie, returned home to learn the business from the ground up. She worked across departments to gain firsthand experience, earning trust through involvement rather than title Today, Rachel owns and operates Mike Savoie Volkswagen of Troy. Rachel and her trusted companion dog, Jimmy now continues this family legacy. Jimmy comes to work with her almost every day and is proudly featured on the website as the Director of Customer Relations. Rachel plans to have Jimmy by her side for years to come.
